About
The Soil Tells Our Story
Hello fellow earth lovers! I was fortunate enough to be born and raised in the beautiful High Desert of Central Oregon on a small 10-acre ranch where learning to connect with and appreciate the seasons and nature was a part of my everyday life.
After graduating High School, I began splitting my time between courses at Central Oregon Community College and working on local food/herb farms specializing in optimizing crop production and soil health.
The Path to Regenerative Farming
From there my deep appreciation for organic and holistic farming approaches continued to grow and at the age of 19 i started my first microfarm growing various medicinal herbs
I began applying self-study and various organic practices to the land, learning through trial and error the fundamentals of soil science. Building on that momentum, I fully immersed myself in the world of regenerative farming and eventually permaculture. Now many years later, I steward a small 5-acre biodynamic permaculture farm in my hometown of Tumalo, OR, called Satori Farms. We practice and experiment with many regenerative farming approaches including:
Permaculture Design, Jadam, Korean Natural Farming (KNF), AACT (Actively Aerobic Compost Tea), Biodynamics, and many other traditional and natural farming philosophies — all to build soil and grow food on desert sand.
Sharing Knowledge & Inspiring Change
Farming in a tough bioregion with limited capital taught me to be resourceful and deepen my understanding of soil health, composting, water-wise techniques, and microbiology.
After attending intensive workshops in Oregon and abroad, I began teaching Jadam/KNF and hold a Permaculture Design Certificate (PDC). I’ve since taught workshops both at home and in the Caribbean.
Through High Desert Soil Alchemy, our mission is to share these hard-earned insights and inspire our local and global communities with soil-focused products, regenerative farming services, and ecological lifestyle practices.
